Account deletion

Delete your Guess the Title account

This page deletes your Guess the Title account and everything attached to it. It does the same thing as Profile → Delete account inside the app, and you do not need the app installed to use it.

This cannot be undone

There is no soft delete, no grace period and no way to restore an account afterwards. Your username is released immediately and someone else may claim it - usernames are permanent once claimed, so you will not be able to take it back.

Deletion form

Delete my account

Your password is the only proof of ownership the app holds, there is no email on file to verify you any other way.

Your handle in the app, not your display name.

The password you set in the app. Forgotten it? See "Lost access to your account?" below.

What gets deleted

All of it, at once.

Your profile
Display name, username, country, avatar, current and longest streak, total score, the category you last picked, your per-day play counters, and your reminder settings.
Every game you have played
The whole history: which description you were shown, what you answered, hints used, wrong guesses, how long you took, the score, and when.
Every achievement you have unlocked
All of them, along with the record of when each one was earned.
Your leaderboard standing
Your slot in the ranking counters is removed, so the account stops affecting where other players sit.

What we never held, or cannot reach

No email, phone number, real name or payment details
None of it is ever collected. Signing up takes a username and a password and nothing else, and there are no subscriptions or in-app purchases, so there is nothing of that kind to delete.
Usage analytics
The app sends coarse usage events — screens opened, rounds played, hints taken, sign-ins — to PostHog, attached to a random account identifier rather than to your username or display name. Deleting the account stops the app associating this device with it; the events already sent age out on PostHog’s retention schedule. They never carried your username, your password or anything you typed.
Your reminder subscription
If you turned reminders on, the app unlinks this device from the deleted account at OneSignal, our notification provider, and the daily streak reminder stops. OneSignal still holds its own record of this device’s notification subscription. To end that as well, switch notifications off for Guess the Title in your device settings, or remove the app.
Backups and logs
Our hosting provider, Convex, keeps operational backups and server logs for its own retention window. The app cannot query them, so we cannot reach into them on request, they age out on the provider’s schedule rather than the moment you press the button.

Lost access to your account?

The app collects no email address, so there is no password reset and nothing the form above can check you against except the password itself. If you have forgotten it, email us instead and a person will handle it by hand.

Email maryamapps456@gmail.com with your username in the message. Since usernames appear on the public leaderboard, your username on its own does not show the account is yours, we will write back asking you to confirm a few details.

Once you have answered, we delete the account within 30 days.

If we cannot establish that the account is yours, we will not delete it. That rule is there to protect your account from anyone who can read your username.
